Independence Day

We had a fabulous 4th of July. We started out the day by going boating with the Allen's and the Rothe's. We had a great time. Ayden wasn't too sure about his life jacket and the "cold" water (which was 70 degrees), but took a couple of naps on the boat and had a great time!
On our way back from the lake, we picked a up Apollo Burger and had a great picnic on the grass in the neighborhood. We had a great time visiting, eating and watching the neighbors' illegal fireworks.

Is Your Baby Doing the Worm Yet?

It seems like all of us mothers get a little caught up in comparing our children. We may feel at times that our child is behind or a little ahead. Well, I hate to break it to all of you but my child is miles ahead of the game. Ayden decided to bypass the crawling and go straight to break dancing! He does his own version of the worm. He has been doing this for awhile, but I finally recorded it.

Family Reunion

On Saturday we were off to Logan for Kipp's family reunion. We had a great time with family that we don't get to see too often. They have a small zoo by the park that we got together at. They had bobcats, red-tail fox, coyotes, monkeys, bald eagles, gold eagles, and many more. The thing that Ayden liked the most were the ducks. He could have stood at the fence watching the ducks all day!

He wasn't the only one who liked the ducks. Here are Ayden and the girls feeding the ducks. My little monkeys with the monkeysIn the past year we have had so many boys born on Kipp's side of the family. We tried to capture a picture with them all. The three oldest were all born within a month of each other-although Ayden is the oldest, he certainly wasn't the biggest.After a long day in the sun, Kipp and I were exhausted, so Ayden kindly drove us home. Thanks buddy!

1st Haircut

We went to Cookie Cutters to get Ayden's haircut. It was darling! You choose a movie and they sit in a fun "chair." What a great experience. Of course this was purely for the sake of pictures for the first cut. For now on I will attempt my own haircuts and save dinero.

Oh Crap!

I thought I heard some noise in the middle of the night-and this is what I found! Ayden had snuck out of bed and was playing Halo! He has obviously been spending too much time with his dad!

Wahington DC

I have been trying to post these-but I was having some technical difficulties! We got back from Washington DC a week ago. We had a great time. It was extremely hot! Temps of about 110 because of the humidity. Kipp was miserable and told me repeatedly that he never needs to come back here ever again!

We also had a tour of our Nation's Capitol by one of Jim Matheson's interns. Here we are outside of Jim Matheson's office. By far my favorite part of the Capitol Building was under the dome where all of the incredible art work is. Ayden appreciated it as well!

Here we are at Mt. Vernon (one of the prettiest places ever). Kipp and Ayden were posing for this picture next to the rooster when Ayden almost grabbed the rooster's tail. I have never seen Kipp move so fast!More Mt. Vernon pictures-beautiful!

When we got back from Mt. Vernon we were really hot and decided to take Ayden swimming at the hotel pool. It was a little too cool-so it took him some time to make up his mind about it-but ended up having a great time.

Sunday morning we were off to Alexandria. Such a cute little town with some darling flower shops, restaurants, and shopping galore-wish we had more time there! On our way there on the metro ride I slathered the sunscreen on Ayden. A mohawk was the end product-and don't you love his cheesy new grin?

My cute cousin Callie met me for a hot afternoon stroll down the Mall. By the time we got to the Lincoln Memorial Ayden was stripped down to a diaper. His cheeks were bright red-it was HOT!

Monday moring was spent at Arlington Cemetary. While watching the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier I had beads of sweat dripping off my face!

Home again! Ayden was great on the plane ride there and then oh so busy on the way back-not bothering anyone but his family! Thanks Betty for such a fun trip!
