The Magical Land of Disney

We recently returned from a short little trip to Disneyland. We had a great time with great company! It was so fun to watch Ayden get so excited about so many different things, and Colby was a dream! Not to mention the weather! When can we go back? Some of our darling friends did a bonfire for us at a fabulous beach one evening. We had such a great time! Again, when can we go back? Better yet move there?
The kids started the evening out by throwing sand into the water and then running from the tide. This throw cracked me up-a little prissy!
We roasted some hot dogs and then had smores for dessert. Delicious! Then kids ended the night by deadman falling into the sand over and over! They were making me laugh so hard. Ayden was covered in sand! He crashed in the car on the way to the hotel, he didn't even wake up until he was a few minutes into his shower! Thanks guys! We had a great time!

Got a few pics with some characters. This time at Disneyland, Ayden was no longer nervous around the characters. He was all about giving them hugs. He often wasn't excited for his turn to see them come to an end. This picture was taken as we were sitting and waiting for the Pixar parade to start. Ayden decided that he was Buzz. He was showing me his muscles. He then proceeded to go around and shake our hands and introduce himself as Buzz! Crazy boy! These boys adore each other! They had so much fun! Can you tell? (At least you can tell that Boston was enjoying himself here! I think Ayden was getting a little dizzy!) We played hard on this trip! We went all day, everyday! Needless to say, we were exhausted by the end

Big Boy

Ayden has been calling himself a big boy lately. The other day he came up to me while I was feeding Colby cereal, put his arm around me and said, "Mommy big boy."
I said back, "Mommy is a big boy?"
"Ya." he says.
The next day I was putting on his friend's shoes so they could go play in the basement. Ayden pats his chest and says, "A shelf, Ayden big boy." (Myself, Ayden is a big boy). He put his shoes on just his toes. He was so proud of himself! He really is becoming a big boy!

Wooooo, Wooooo!

We recently made a little visit to our local fire station. Since we were going to see some firetrucks, I decided it was time to teach Ayden what they were really called rather than just calling them woooo woooo like he has forever. The firemen were really cute with the kids. They at one point tried to teach the kids how to stop, drop and roll. It went a little over the 2-year olds heads, but it was cute. We had a great time!

Easter Sunday

Ayden woke up not knowing what the Easter Bunny was. I find that if I tell him about something, he then asks for the next week about a thousand times a day if it is time for that to happen. So for Easter I was a bit lame and didn't get him excited about what was coming. But on Easter morning he could tell by the excitement in our voices that it was something he wanted to be a part of.
This is his pose at the top of the stairs as he is catching on to the idea that something fun was going on.
This spoiled boy got an Easter basket, DVD's, a kitchen and a Mack truck (from Cars). Seriously? I actually wanted to get him a kitchen for Christmas, but Kipp would go for it. In the last month or two, Ayden has been wanting to "cook" all of the time! It is so cute, and he stays so entertained by it. So now he has a little kitchen to do his cooking in. Ever since Ayden got Mack, he has been acting out the movie. Including having me sing "Life is a Highway." It is pretty darn funny! Colby has yet to really enjoy the things in his basket-most of them are new treats he will be able to try in the upcoming weeks. We spent the day at home watching conference and then headed over to my sister's house for dinner and an egg hunt. We had a great day! We ran out of time over the weekend to dye eggs, so we saved it for the day after Easter. Boy, did Ayden love that! Oh the joys of watching your kids have fun and discover new things!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter weekend! A little peak at the boys in the Easter attire. I nearly forgot to grab some pics of these guys before they went down for naps. I got home from choir practice to find Ayden still fully dressed eating a hot dog with ketchup! (Kipp obviously isn't the one who does the laundry around here) So we are lucky to still have a clean shirt for a couple of pictures!

Words of Wisdom

"No crash. Careful mom."
These are the words my 2 year old said to me as I was heading out for the evening.

Cars

I was working out in the basement, Ayden must have decided he was a little bored and headed upstairs. When I came upstairs, Ayden pulled me over to the highchair. "Mom, Cars honkey."
This is what I found:Lightning McQueen is and always will be just "Cars." Ayden knows the names of all of the other characters but when we try to tell him that this is Lightning-it goes in one ear and out the other.
But apparently Lightning got a little hungry (or honkey in Ayden's words), so Ayden poured him some cereal and put him on the highchair tray to enjoy. Crazy boy!
