Coming October 2009

Easter in Sin City

We had a great time in Las Vegas visiting my brother and his family over Easter weekend. We spent our first morning there at the Las Vegas Speedway. For Christmas, my family gave my dad a nascar experience for a gift. He was able to drive with a nascar driver in a nascar. Afterwards he was able to drive a sports car on one of the driving tracks. He had a great time-and we learned that it is a good thing that he didn't go into racing-he wouldn't have made any money doing it. Sorry dad!
This is Rex getting ready to drive his BMW.

Once we got there, Kipp decided that he wanted a ride-along experience as well. So he suited up and got to ride in a nascar in the oval, reaching speeds of 180 mph.Ayden might have been the biggest fan of all. He is in love with the movie Cars right now. He loved sitting in the cars. After watching the cars zoom by-this is all he wanted to do the rest of the time we were there. People were getting a kick out of my little tike pushing his stroller around-a wannabe racer.

The TV saved us on this trip. He watched the DVD player the whole way down. Like I said before Ayden is in love with Cars, but he also loves the movie Bolt. Here is my little couch potato watching TV at the hotel after a quick shower.

We also had a wonderful Easter egg hunt and BBQ back at my sister in law's family's house.

Here is Ayden waiting patiently for the hunt to start

My nephew Cael-not so patient. Eating the grass in his Easter basket.

It was fun watching our little turkey figure out the Easter egg hunt. He was very interested in the egg and once he put an egg in his basket he kept going to take it out. He was content with playing with the one egg.
Once the hunt was done, he started opening his eggs. He wanted nothing to do with the treat inside-he just wanted to open the eggs. He is crazy!

Call me Grace

I dropped the cornstarch while putting it back in the cupboard and caught it with my head-enough said.

Seriously?

This is how I found Ayden the other morning while I was getting ready

This is how I found him after I got ready

This is at dinner the other night. Ayden is licking his babyfood jar clean (yes I know that a 17 month old that eats babyfood is the bigger problem)!

Why is it that...

Literally 30 minutes after I finish sweeping and mopping the floor I drop a glass that shatters all over. And while not watching my child while cleaning it up, he takes the bag out of the frosted flake box and starts shaking it over his head. It is a sign-I shouldn't clean anymore!

Here Comes the Sun!

Okay-not really, but there has been some sun-it's just still freezing cold! The other day we had to get out of the house so we went four-wheeling in the stroller through the snow to the playground. Ayden enjoyed being outside. The result: snot running down his face. Can't wait til he learns the art of sniffing!
