Just a Taste

Last night we took Ayden outside for a little taste of the winter season. He loved watching the snow from the window during the day-but he was much more excited about being out in it. We tried to teach him how to open his mouth and catch a snowflake, so when he got back inside kept looking up and opening his mouth and then would laugh. Fun to see how excited they get!

Fall

Ayden has a favorite item at my parents house. It is a pink doll stroller. He is in love. When we were there the other day, we took the stroller on a walk up and down the street. Ayden had a great time running over the leaves and listening to them crunch under his feet. Then we found the jackpot. He ran back and forth through this big pile of leaves over and over! I love fall!

Brothers

The other day, I was sitting on the couch talking to Kipp on the phone when I looked over to see this:

Colby was sleeping and Ayden was just laying in front of him staring at him. It was really sweet. I think Colby has a fan named Ayden.
Our new way to get Ayden to do things that he really doesn't want to do is say, "Ayden, show the baby how you brush your teeth." or Ayden, show Colby how you eat your lunch." Ayden then proceeds to do his best at whatever the task is making sure his brother is watching. If I forget to face Colby towards him, Ayden will say, "Baby!" like he is trying to get his attention. It is really funny and it works like a charm!

Pumpkin Patch

We took a little trip to the local pumpkin patch. Ayden had a great time running around and riding in the wheel barrow. Kipp and Ayden also took a little tractor ride. It was good to get out of the house and enjoy the good weather this weekend.

Welcome Home!

We brought our wee one home on Friday. A few pictures before we left the hospital:My pediatrician gave me a couple of ideas to introduce Ayden to the new baby. He suggested that we buy a present for Ayden from the baby. Ayden was very excited to get a present from the baby. Ayden giving Colby a thank you hug

Ayden loves his brother!

The Big Cheese!

My brother Brandon coined this nickname for the newest member of our family who has made his arrival! Colby Rex Ware. (Hence the nickname-Colby Jack Cheese) We welcomed him on Wednesday morning, the 14th at 9:01 am. He weighed 7 lbs 13 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.
I started having more consistent contractions on Tuesday night around 10:30. Kipp got home from basketball and kept asking-"could this be it?" My response-"nah." I was a little in denial because I really wanted a full night sleep before going into labor. So I tried to go to sleep but the contractions just got closer and stronger. Finally around 1 am-I gave up and started pulling some things together. My sweet sister Nicole came over around 2 to stay the rest of the night with Ayden. We showed up to the hospital where I was dilated to a 4 and 70% effaced. I asked for my epidural (aka a little slice of heaven) around 4:30. My water started leaking around 8, so my doctor came and ruptured it the rest of the way and found that I was dilated to an 8. Kipp headed to the cafeteria to get something to eat and right after he left I started feeling the urge to push. Right when he returned, I started pushing. A few pushes later...(I know-a very scarey picture-remember-I wasn't planning on going to the hospital)

Of course we are already in love, and so far, so good! Now for him to meet his brother-could be very interesting! We will keep you posted!

Big Boy?

We put Ayden in his new bed a few days ago. Things went very smoothly-not nearly as dramatic as I was thinking it would be. Until last night...my child decided that bed was really not where he wanted to be and figured out how to climb out. We dealt with our screaming child off and on until 1:30 last night. Big boy? I am not so sure now.
